Our Missions



7.Efforts made at the Hokuriku Branch

The Hokuriku Branch of Electricity and Gas Industry provides the following services: 1) lays the foundations and provides the revitalization support needed to strengthen the competitiveness of Hokuriku regional industries, 2) supports small- and medium-sized companies that lead the region, 3) secures a stable supply of electric power and gas, and 4) gathers data on the regional economy.

Efforts to strengthen the industrial competitiveness of the Hokuriku region

The Hokuriku region is a cluster of unique companies with niche top technologies and companies taking up challenges in conducting innovative research and development. There are many companies working in the following fields: 1) the high-performance new material field, which features carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP); and 2) the life science field, which features medical devices and pharmaceuticals. The Hokuriku Branch collaborates with local governments, universities, research institutes, and support organizations in helping companies develop new businesses and fields. Under the current coronavirus pandemic, the Hokuriku Branch is putting effort into strengthening the industrial competitiveness of the region, such as by supporting business restructuring with DX.

Efforts to help start new businesses in the Hokuriku region

With the entrepreneurship rate declining in the region, to cultivate entrepreneurs, or new business owners, and thereby improve the Hokuriku region’s entrepreneurship rate, create employment opportunities, and replace old businesses with new ones, the Hokuriku Branch collaborates with local governments and support organizations in implementing the following measures aimed at helping start new businesses in the region: 1) holding exchange events that introduce advanced examples of support for starting new businesses, and 2) compiling a booklet that introduces businesses that were launched in the region.
