To help create a safe and worry-free region, the Consumer Affairs Division implements the following measures: 1) providing consumers with consultation and advice, 2) educating consumers, 3) optimizing consumer transactions by imposing administrative sanctions on businesses that deliberately violate laws, and 4) ensuring the safety of consumer products.
To ensure the quality of electric power, gas, and petroleum products and maintain a stable supply in the event of an emergency, including disasters, the Electricity and Gas Industry Division supervises and instructs relevant businesses and puts effort into the regional promotion and maintenance of nearby power generation and petroleum-related facilities. In addition, in collaboration with relevant government organizations, the Electricity and Gas Industry Division puts effort into instituting measures that will ensure smooth fuel supply in the Chubu region in the event of a large-scale disaster.
With the full liberalization of electricity and gas retailing, the Electricity and Gas Market Surveillance Office puts effort into monitoring electricity and gas transactions to ensure fair and free competition.
