5．Ensuring the Safety and Security of People’s Lives and Emergency Measures in the Event of a Disastery

To achieve a safe and secure consumer life, we optimize consumer transactions and ensure thorough compliance with laws and regulations regarding product safety. We also work to ensure the stable supply of resources and energy, including electricity, gas, petroleum products, and minerals, which support people’s lives and economic activities.

Ensuring an environment where consumers can live safely without worries

　To help create a safe and worry-free region, we implement measures including the following: 1) providing consumers with consultation and advice, 2) educating consumers, 3) optimizing consumer transactions by imposing administrative sanctions on businesses that deliberately violate laws, and 4) ensuring the safety of consumer products.

Ensuring a stable supply of resources and energy to support the Chubu region

To ensure the quality of electric power, gas, and petroleum products and maintain a stable supply of mineral resources and energy even in the event of a disaster or other emergency, we supervise and instruct relevant businesses and put effort into the development and maintenance of areas around power-generation and petroleum-related facilities.
In addition, in collaboration with relevant government organizations, we put effort into instituting measures that will ensure smooth fuel supply in the Chubu region in the event of a large-scale disaster.

Appropriate monitoring of electricity and gas transactions

With the full liberalization of electricity and gas retailing, we put effort into monitoring electricity and gas transactions in an appropriate manner to ensure fair and free competition.
