By supporting the R&D and commercialization of high-growth SMEs, we work on upgrading fundamental technologies and services that support the manufacturing industry in the Chubu region. Meanwhile, we also work to produce regional innovation in terms of both hardware and software through the following efforts: 1) helping universities and public testing/research laboratories introduce advanced equipment; 2) operating a network of and encouraging interaction among universities, public testing/research laboratories, and organizations associated with industry-academia-government collaboration; and 3) promoting standardization (establishing JIS standards, etc.) at SMEs.
Furthermore, we work together with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in helping promote efforts to establish industry-academia collaboration leader model bases and regional open innovation bases in order to accelerate industry-academia-government collaboration.
In collaboration with local support organizations, experts, governments, and other parties in the Chubu region, we work to make the intellectual property (IP) system widely known and encourage the utilization of IP by holding IP seminars, matching businesses with IP, and providing continuous IP management support in a considerate manner.
In the Tokai region, based on the Greater Nagoya Initiative (GNI)*, we collaborate with local governments in the following ways to promote regional internationalization: 1) offering seminars and business matching events to stimulate inward investment, and 2) dispatching corporate missions to promote economic exchange. In the Hokuriku region, we collaborate with the industrial sector in promoting economic exchange activities with East Asian countries.
We work to improve business environments for small- and medium-sized companies by supporting them from various angles including the following: 1) providing management consultation services in response to requests for help, 2) facilitating access to financial support, 3) improving and revitalizing businesses, 4) facilitating business succession, and 5) supporting disaster prevention/mitigation measures.
We work to optimize subcontracting transactions and improve transaction terms and conditions in the interest of SMEs and the entire supply chain by making efforts including the following: 1) sending investigators to subcontractors to have interviews in order to grasp the transaction status with their parent companies, and 2) providing guidance and advice to parent companies through on-site inspections conducted in accordance with the Act against Delay in Payment of Subcontract Proceeds, etc. to Subcontractors.
