Our Missions

3.Upgrading the Industrial Development Base

We steadily foster regional strategic industries and upgrade the business environment in terms of, for example, technology, finance and industrial infrastructure, to facilitate business activities in the Chubu region.
In addition, we work toward internationalizing the region through the following initiatives: 1) stimulating investment from overseas to the region, 2) attracting excellent technologies and human resources from all over the world, 3) encouraging international exchange through industry-academia-government-finance collaboration, and 4) supporting overseas expansion of local companies.

Encouraging innovation through advanced technology and invigorating industry-academia-government collaboration

By supporting the R&D and commercialization of high-growth SMEs, we work on upgrading fundamental technologies and services that support the manufacturing industry in the Chubu region. Meanwhile, we also work to produce regional innovation in terms of both hardware and software through the following efforts: 1) helping universities and public testing/research laboratories introduce advanced equipment; 2) operating a network of and encouraging interaction among universities, public testing/research laboratories, and organizations associated with industry-academia-government collaboration; and 3) promoting standardization (establishing JIS standards, etc.) at SMEs.
Furthermore, we work together with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in helping promote efforts to establish industry-academia collaboration leader model bases and regional open innovation bases in order to accelerate industry-academia-government collaboration.

Encouraging the utilization of intellectual property

In collaboration with local support organizations, experts, governments, and other parties in the Chubu region, we work to make the intellectual property (IP) system widely known and encourage the utilization of IP by holding IP seminars, matching businesses with IP, and providing continuous IP management support in a considerate manner.

Efforts to internationalize the Chubu region

In the Tokai region, based on the Greater Nagoya Initiative (GNI)*, we collaborate with local governments in the following ways to promote regional internationalization: 1) offering seminars and business matching events to stimulate inward investment, and 2) dispatching corporate missions to promote economic exchange. In the Hokuriku region, we collaborate with the industrial sector in promoting economic exchange activities with East Asian countries.
